What a rug clean costs
Three stages, every time. We will tell you which of them your rug needs before we quote.

Fibre test and dry soil removal
We check the fibre and the dyes first — wool, silk and viscose all behave differently in water. Then the dry grit comes out, which is most of what makes a rug look flat.

Wash and stain work
A wool-safe wash worked through the pile, with individual attention to the marks you point out. Pet odour is treated at the backing, not masked with fragrance.

Extraction and controlled drying
We pull the moisture back out rather than leaving it to evaporate, and set air movers where we can. A damp rug left on a damp floor is how both get ruined.
Rug cleaning prices
Rugs vary enormously by size, fibre and condition, so we do not publish a figure that would only mislead you. Send us a photograph and the rough dimensions and we will come back with a real price, with no obligation either way.
Having carpets done at the same visit? Rugs are cheaper added to a carpet booking than done on their own, so tell us if both are needed.

A photograph tells us more than a phone description, and it costs you nothing to send one.

Worth knowing before you book
- Not every mark lifts. Dye transfer, bleach and old pet damage are often permanent, and we would rather say so beforehand than after.
- A spillage from months ago can wick back up as the rug dries. If it reappears, tell us and we will come back and work it again.
- Viscose and some silk rugs can shade or texture-change with any wet clean. We will tell you the risk before we start, and you decide.
- Rugs on wooden floors need to come up for a few hours. We bring sheeting so the floor underneath is not left damp.

Carpet cleaning
From a tired staircase to a child’s bedroom, we clean the lot. Pet accidents, spilled drinks, years of traffic in a hallway — tell us what happened and we will tell you what we can do about it.

Fabric and leather, cushions and all, cleaned in your front room. The part of the house everyone sits on and nobody thinks to clean.
Mattress cleaning
Dust mites, sweat and allergens come out of a mattress far better than most people expect. Worth doing in any bedroom, and especially a child’s.
End of tenancy cleaning
Carpets taken back to a standard an agent will sign off, with a receipt for the file. Done the week you need it, not the week after.

Questions we get asked about rugs
Do you take the rug away?
Usually not — most rugs are cleaned where they lie. If yours needs a longer soak, or it is an antique that wants a proper wash pit, we will say so and arrange collection and return instead.
How long until I can walk on it?
A few hours with windows open and the air movers running. Thick wool takes longer than a flat-weave. We will tell you what to expect for your rug before we start.
Will the pet smell come back?
Not if the urine has been treated at the backing rather than just the surface, which is what we do. Where it has soaked into the underlay or the floor beneath, that needs dealing with too, and we will point it out.
Are you insured for valuable rugs?
Yes — we carry public liability and treatment cover, and we are happy to send the certificate before the visit. For anything hand-knotted or antique we will quote on sight rather than over the phone.
